In The Beginning.

Where to begin? In the old days, before kids and endless responsibilities I used to work in restaurants - Alistair Littles, The River Cafe, Chez Pannis and Rick Steins to name but a few. And then I set up my own restaurants - The Cow Dining Room and The Vale to name a couple. Late nights, relentless hours, not much sleep, all work and not much play! But then kids came along and I knew that working nights and weekends was over. I found a day job which luckily enough was working for Riverford Organics for the last ten years. It has been great but somewhere deep inside I have always dreamt of doing my own thing again. The Dining Room is only very small, only the very start but like all good things, I hope that it will grow - like the kids did.

A Spanish Menu

Gazpacho, Boquerones,  Pimientos de Padron, Tortilla, Bunuelos de Bacala, Gambas & Choirizo Paella, Tarta de Santiago with Baked Apricots, lots of Cava and plenty of lovely Spanish Wine

An Autumn Menu

Making the most of the best of all that is greatabout Autumn with 

Blackberry Prosecco, Wild Mushroom and Truffle Soup,

Pumpkin & Ricotta Tortellini, Pear & Almond Tart

A Mexican Menu

Rhubarb Margaritas, Selection of Tostadas, Slow Cooked Pork Shoulder Carnitas, Sweet Potato Chips & Mexican Slaw, Churros y Chocolate.

A Vegetarian Italian Feast 

Five courses of fabulous Riverford organic vegetables and Vallebona Cheese - Antipasta, Primi, Secondi, Fromaggi & Dolci

and of course Vino.

French Bistro

Gratinated Onion Soup, Boeuf Bourguignon, Fromage, Crème Brulée and lots of fabulous French wine.


A Middle Eastern Menu

Lots of Mezze - Fattoush, Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tabbouleh, Falafel & Labneh  followed by 10 Hour Slow Cooked Lamb Shawarma.

Pasta Making Workshop

How to make the best pasta dough, how to roll it out, different shapes from lasagne to pappardelle to Tagliatelle al Limoni, Spinach and Ricotta Tortellini & Wild Mushroom Tortellini. A fun, relaxed but informative experience suitable for anyone interested in food and cooking.

The Dining Room is a pop-up supper club

currently located in Merton Park.


It will take place twice a month on the last Friday and Saturday nights of each month.


The menu will focus on seasonal, organic vegetables and fabulous ingredients sourced from local suppliers.

Our current little Dining Room seats 30 but can be booked out for private parties of up to 35 on available dates.
